oh, I just remembered a great cartoon from many years ago.
There was a congressional hearing, and an unseen questioner is saying to a gent in a suit: "Senator, I thought you said we were not going to balance the budget on the back of the poor man."
And the Senator replies, "Well, these cuts will mainly affect women and children."
Been here over half a century, watching this same thing happen, in different ways, over and over. I can't even afford plastic drop cloths and tape for the winders.
