Austin was a major high tech hub so we've had $60,000. a year programmers applying for $28,000.00 a year jobs at the state.
Until the hiring freeze and now layoffs.
Two years ago, Texas had a surplus, now, $10,000,000,000.00 in the hole. It's the Legislature that screws things up, so they come to town for a few months, fire a lot of people, then return to their law practices in a comfy little community. Seagull managers: Fly in, crap on everybody, fly away.
I've only been at the state 2 years and I have learned that politics is way more slimy than even the most cynical can imagine.
