maybe not so hypothetical...

In reply to best choice of partner? 2 bipolar or 1 normal?, posted by Nina78 on June 3, 2006, at 12:23:17

I had a very restless relationship with my ex-boyfriend. When we were together it was fun, but it never lasted long. It was like a traffic light, constantly on/off. Sometimes we would decide it might be easier if we would be just friends, but that never worked...

Since, I have found out that I have cyclothymia. And I have a strong suspicion that he might too! It would explain everything! I was more open to the idea of being bipolar to start with cos of family history, but it still took me quite some time to come to terms with.

Now my ex is asking for a second chance. And I'm not sure. On 1 side I want to, cos it's fun, and I like him & being with him. He can have a positive effect on me sometimes. On the other side, how long will it last? Will he make me worse? Will I make him worse? How do I tell him that he might be bipolar too? Will he accept that? Would it not be better to look for a normal/stable partner?

Any thoughts??
