Sorry, I could have been more succinct...
With just what you posted, my guess is the dream represents the need to address something particular about your childhood/relationship with Mom to enable your psychological/spiritual growth. It's holding you back, and although your therapist is trying to help you ascend, there is something unadressed you need to focus on to enable further growth.
The fact that this dream is reoccuring means you really need to solve the mystery; if you figure it out, it could be a milestone in your progress.
If I'm totally off, sorry, its fun for me to guess. :+)
