Thanks, Muffly. I've missed "talking" to you. You are right, as usual. And I do have a supervisor and am trying to get *her* to speak up. I'll let you know how it goes.
I am looking forward to AFTER the surgery. It's the surgery itself and all the unknowns that I'm having trouble with.
