I don't think it's odd that your therapist should have cried or gone silent.
Mine did, and it was OK.

(Well, I suppose it was OK. How was I supposed to know? If it wasn't OK who's fault was it?

I was reasonably happy to blame myself as long as I could take her down with me etc etc.)

I was going to ask if you felt your T had maintained therapeutic control, but that seems like a terrible question. There is (hopefully) enough control in this situation.

But do you feel she lost it?

Some things in therapy call for silence, maybe even the silent treatment.

I used to dread it. I could feel it coming too.
