Me, too, all the time! I think I'm rehearsing, trying to build up courage, or practice the more sensitive stuff before I try doing it "for real. "And I sometimes relate those imaginary sessions to him, which almost always leads to an important, actual session.

When I mention that I'm about to tell him about one of these "session in my mind," he'll usually smile and say something like, "Was I any good?" or "How did I do this time?"
