Sometimes when I feel like you are feeling, it helps to give in to the "smallness" and comfort yourself. I have a warm blanket, tea and often a cat or two on my lap. I find that just sitting sometimes gives way to tears and then I can get up and go on. Or sleep works, if I can get there.
When hurts are bigger than we can manage, it is important to try a distraction for a bit. I know that it is important to sit with these feelings, but not to the point where you are overwhelmed and suicidal. As hard as it is, get out and be with people. Or watch a comedy. You have to move yourself out of the emotional storm into a safe port.
And if you can't do that, call your therapist and just check in. It sometimes helps just to hear their voice and be reassured that you aren't alone. And we are here too. Perhaps we could all do a joint coloring session - at 3pm (west coast time) I'll get out my crayons and coloring books and think about you getting out yours. I think I'm going to pick my Flintstones book this time - do you have a favorite? If you don't have crayons, I'm giving you orders to go buy some. There is nothing like brand new crayons to delight the younger parts of you. Sounds crazy but coloring actually is calming - for kids and adults.
And don't forget to eat and drink fluids. You will feel better doing these things for yourself. Don't let yourself be insignificant to yourself. Self-care goes a long way.
Take care.
