Do you have cable or satelight? I know they have yoga several times a day on the Lime network I think it is called, and on other stations too.I like Rodney Yee tapes, (which are also on tv), and if you go with the beginner tapes, they would be best to start with.
I like to go to yoga classes, the instructor can help with the poses or motify them if need be. Plus it is in a dimly lit room, so you don'thave to be so self conscience. Once you start classes you realize that others are concentrating on doing there own stuff because you really can't be looking around much and be doing it correctly.
The most important part to yoga, is the breathing. It isn't just stretches, it is breathing and movements at once. On some of the harder poses, it is very hard to breathe correctly, but you do get better the more you do it.
