I'm in trouble at work, too. :( So I didn't have time to do more than skim part of it.
It looks interesting. I'm familiar with some of the concepts, perhaps described a bit differently.
I wouldn't worry too much about the personality disorders. If this is the form of therapy he uses, then it's because he endorses the concepts and finds them helpful. I'm sure he has the same overall orientation for everyone.
Besides, personality disorders are only ends of a spectrum that everyone is on. It's only a "disorder" if it causes problems to the client. So wouldn't what helps those on the edges of a spectrum help those all along the line?
I still think they ought to change the name though. "Personality disorders" or "characterological disorders" is enough to make anyone angry on being labelled with them. I personally prefer "characteristic coping styles" or something like that.
