DBT is used for BPD, but it's also a sort of Flavor of the Month for a lot of other things, too. (In modified form, it's being used for eating disorders, too, right now.)
Basically, the focus is on several areas. Learning skills to help you tolerate distress better, improving interpersonal effectiveness, being aware of yourself and your reactions and your behaviors, etc. All good stuff, Phillipa. Generally, it's put together as a group and an individual session each week: the group works on learning the skills, and the individual session processes what went on in group.
