I give my T. a check covering my co-pay at the end of each session. He does all the insurance filing for the rest of his fee.

I'm used to the little ritual, and in some ways, it helps me. It's a few minutes to chat and to bring myself further out of "therapy mode" if things have been intense. More time to dry the tears and breathe. I think it also helps remind me of the reality that this is his job, and I do have to leave, on those days where I want to stay there and curl up on his couch.

I have a lot of those days :-(
