Well, its how its happening and the fact that I have some of the "other" signs of anxiety like weird chest pain and muscle tension .... something I don't usually get. I also had a physical not 3 months ago and everything was deemed fine.

> How do you know? You should, first and foremost, get checked out by your MD. If there's nothing wrong with your throat, you might want to consult with a psychiatrist for something to alleviate anxiety. I've had that "lump in the throat" sensation and I know it's beyond unpleasant.

See the problem is I don't want to go to the doctor. When I was depressed, it ended up in a horrible downward over-medicated spiral and it took more close to a year to free myself from it. I don't want meds anymore ... hence why I posted here rather than the psycho babble board. I don't want to mask the anxiety ... I want to find a way to control it myself.
