deep breaths. In through the nose and out through the mouth. Focus on your breathing, not the overwhelming, scary feelings. The feelings will start to subside once you stop feeding them and perpetuating the cycle. I know it's hard, but keep breathing - In through the nose, out through the mouth. Try to push everything else out of your mind except for deep, cleansing breaths from the belly - in through the nose and out through the mouth.
