I hope you are still reading. I'm sorry you have had this happen to you, too. I've been reading "The Drama of the Gifted Child" recently, and Miller talks about how children of narcissitic parents often have to repress negative emotions until they become more of a false self versus their own true self. Perhaps some body memories are related to these repressions, and need to be re-experienced (Miller says in therapy) in order to become authentic. It rang a chord with me, and was actually somewhat relieving that there is a wide range of emotional pain that can be stored in the body.
