In reply to commute to T?, posted by B2chica on October 30, 2004, at 15:23:35

Hi,
My T is located at the Uni where I am a grad student ....I live about 35 miles away (45-60 mins away by car depending on traffic, how fast/slow I drive, and whether I take the highway or the longer route). If I were just commuting to see her, then it might not be so bad. But, I also have to drive for class, to see my other treatment team members (doc and nutritionist), as well as any other reason I needed to be at school, so driving can be a pain in the rear sometimes. I'm currently moving about 15 mins away from campus (and literally 2 mins by car from where my T lives), and I think it will work out much better, BUT, to answer your question, I think that commuting to a T who you feel a connection with and that you are benefiting from can be worth it. Sometimes we had to cancel due to bad weather, but not too frequently to make it a huge issue. And "what ifs" can happen at any time, to anyone, regardless of distance. Again, if you find a T who is worth the extra time, then go for it. At least try it for a while, see how it goes.
Good luck.
