You know, as I read all of this about hugging and such, I am reminded of MY OWN hugging of my (former?) therapist.
I used to do it a bit when I was on a "high", and I think I did it, in a weird way, to give myself a sense of power and to try and "even out" the differences in our relationship. So it was, at those times, no longer doctor/patient, but rather, the fabulous me and her fabulous friend, the shrink...
Don;'t know if that is relevant, but it just came to mind....
