Oh, yeah! And don't forget: there are no calories in the broken cookies. The calories just fall out through the breaks.
I do that, too, at times. And I have little tricks to avoid it, although a lot of those tricks are so resonant of my self-starvation that they worry me. Some of them, though, are useful and healthy. For example, I do eat junk food, like potato chips (my sick cat loves BBQ potato chips. We buy them for him. Yeah, that's it...) When I have my potato chips, I put some into a bowl, and that's what I can eat. Cookies? I choose how many I'm going to have, and put them on a plate, and put a snack clip thing on the package, so that I have to think a little more before I take more out. Snack clips, just because they make you think just a little more, are definite waist savers!
Another trick of mine, by the way, is not to eat in from of the computer. In front of the TV is fine for me, but in front of the computer I can eat like a bird: four times my body weight in one sitting....
