TWENTY fruits? My goodness, I can't think of that many even with time! But, I think it has more to do with cultural, social, and financial issues. i.e., the common fruits that we eat (probably typically American) are bananas, apples, oranges, strawberries, pears, grapes, and watermelon (off the top of my head). Well, think about it. That's mainly what I see when I go into the grocery store so that's all I normally think about. I can't afford and probably am not adventurous enough to eat really exotic stuff. Also, does one classify berries such as blackberries, blueberries, dewberries, etc. as fruit?
I've seen a similar test but it asks the participant to name all the words they can think of that begin with the letter "C" in a given period of time. Think it's 2 minutes. I think an average person can name 25. The words cannot be names of people or cities, states.
Just my thought ... !
