> I read an article in Prevention magazine about a study where they asked people how many animals or fruits they could name in one minute. According to the article normal people could name 20-25 and people with early Alzheimer's 10-15. I flunked the test-very scary. I'm hoping it was just due to anxiety-I kept thinking of tons more animals and fruits after the tests were over. Others-try it and tell me how many you can name. Cecilia
>Like Larry stated, there can be a number of reasons for why this happened to you. For example, I did a whole battery of psych testing a year ago and this who naming task was part of it. Ranged from animals to people's names. Turns out I did horrible compared to most people. After other tests it turns out I have Expressive Language Disorder. The best way I can describe it is that I know the words, but the thoughts carrying those words hit a wall and I get stuck. So, for you it could be anxiety, some expressive language issue, or any other number of things. Nothing to get scared about. :-)
And technically, there is no "flunking" these tests. It is just a measure of how you do compared to other people. "Flunking" just sounds soooooo negative.
