> It has been a month now since I sprained my right ankle. I don't think it was sprained badly because I was still able to limp around. I can walk ok on it but it is still a little swollen and it hurts a bit when I push on it. Is this normal? Shouldn't it be all healed by now? I've never sprained an ankle before this so I really don't know the answers.
Sounds totally normal to me. I have sprained both my ankles several times (I play contact sport, and also ride a bike, which seems to inconvenience car drivers; I've been hit a few times).
Sprains seem to take quite a while to heal and can remain painful for weeks. My ankles are now permanently swollen... but remember I'm talking about multiple sprains. I think a little profen would be OK in your case.
The really important thing is to do the right kind of strengthening exercises. A physiotherapist or sports injuries specialist could help. Keep your ankle mobile and do plenty of walking, but stop if it hurts.
