I think it can take a while, esp. if you've been walking, standing and tip-toeing a lot (at work) lately. I'd give your doctor a call and ask for advice, such as:
-what kinds of shoes would best help me heal (probably she'll say gym shoes w good support)
-should I wrap the ankle for work for a few days/weeks? If so, how tightly should I wrap it?
-should i take Ibuprofin, Advil or aspirin daily to help reduce swelling?
-Should I ice it every evening or elevate it after work for 15-20 minutes?
My personal recommendation (although I'm not a doctor!) would be to wear really good shoes, elevate your feet during work breaks, take Advil/Ibuprofin (as long as you don't have allergies to it), and ice in the evenings for 15 minutes. I'm not sure about wrapping - if that would help or not.
good luck! I hope it feels better soon. :)
