Getting your sugar levels checked is very wise. Also, if your hormones have changed - a different birth control pill or (hello!) you're experiencing the onset of menopause - then you could expect that this could happen.
The same thing has happened to me, although I have figured out the timing within my cycle, it doesn't prevent it from happening. I have considered doing some more radically diet changes that I've read about. Things like not consuming fermented food (wine, cheese, breads) is supposed to help.
It's a whole bunch of no fun, though, isn't it?
