Dinah PLEASE do check your blood sugars a FEW times a day for a month...I do 5 times a day...daily for many months to catch any variations in them. THE reason this is so important is because your Hb A1C is an average of the last 3 months..most people do not know the emphasis is on the last month...AS IT IS an average one can run HIGH all day and LOW all night and be in a good range :) I may email you more on all later but ...its an average and a GREAT test but an endocrinologist will look at random samples , fasting , HbA1C as well as muliple times a day to see patterns..I once ran a few months GREAT HbA1C's but was running in the 40-60 range a lot at night...not so good....protein will carry you longer as well as healthy fats...like in nuts and flaxseed etc..Test and see what is going on.
