Hi Lynn,
I'm not a Christian, but I wanted to answer your post anyway... even though it's been a while since you first posted it.
First, from your Bible, God does not ALWAYS take pain away. Sometimes, in the faithful, it serves a purpose. Job suffered a great deal, but remained faithfull and managed still to praise God.
The Apostles, too suffered torture and death, but still through it, praised their God.
Second, We have been blessed with a plethora of healing modalities. Some medicinal, some more spiritual. These are all gifts to us. We need to avail ourselves of them. If we don't, it is like drowning in an ocean waiting for God to save us but ignoring the life ring a short swim away.
I'm glad that you are seeing a Dr. I hope that you are feeling better today. If you aren't though, please don't give up on your God. Perhaps he just wishes you to look for a time longer. Also, please don't wait until you are well to praise your God. Your praises can be efficacious in themselves. I'm certain, that if you go to church, and there is a music ministry there, that you have felt at peace when singing praise. Keep that up.
Remember that Job didn't wait until his travails were over to offer praise and thanks to his God, nor did the apostles and the early saints. Nor should you. Offer thanks, and praise, and wait on God for your miracle.
