Glycine for anxiety?

Posted by Lao Tzu on February 19, 2009, at 9:59:16

Years ago, I tried the amino acid glycine for my anxiety, and I had very good results. It did calm me down quite a bit if I took the right dosage. However, that being said, you can take too much glycine, which may precipitate a depressive episode. If I took more than 5,000mg at any one time, my depression got worse. However, if I stayed around 2,000-3,000mg, my depression and anxiety were a lot better. I think glycine might be worth looking into if you have severe anxiety. Just remember not to take too much as it could potentially cause a depressive episode. Just wanted to put this out there for some of you with extreme anxiety.
