Sounds like you took too much, for your specific body.

Bad taste? They are a perishable commodity. Bad taste would indicate rancidity, I would think. Find a better source for fresh product. It ought to be in a store's refrigerated section, and in yours at home.

Again, too high a dose. You can use a hammer gently. Cut the dose.
