That could be a possibility. I wanted to get my EPA dose up to about 1,000 mgs and with the product I'm using, that requires about 5-6 softgels per day. Some folks find higher EPA is be helpful, others do not. So, like so many things, it's a bit of a trial to see what could make a difference. The actual bottle dosing on mine is up to 6 per day. An interesting read on all this fishy talk is found in "The Omega-3 Connection" by Andrew Stoll, MD -- and of course, here are many other resources that can be helpful.
I have found the effects of Fish Oil to be gradual, but I do believe they are helpful for my uplifting my mood. I also believe they can help an AD work better, if one is taking one.
There are folks who notice no mood benefits from the use of fish oils, so it's individual. The evidence found in studies is quite promising that a number of folks do benefit.
As long as you have no contraindications (mainly not on a blood thinner or have problems with blood clotting) you could try upping your dose and see how things go for you.
Best to you--
