Your really asking alot here..The broad metabolic pathways in the human system react differently to all nutrients depending on many variables..If I told you to take vitamin c to prevent colds and by doing so you became sick, would you assume vit c failed your self-test?..Well how about vitamin c's primary function of manufacturing collagen?..Could that be determined? If you were showing symptoms of scurvy you could.You'd have to be much more specific if you wanted to really determine a supplements beneficial effects to you personally..ie; "What am I trying to achieve?"
