I think that's an excellent point.
I also think if we know tidbits about someone such as: their living location, place of work, names of their family, etc. to not post such information either --- even if the poster has disclosed the info. I have seem such information, some of which the poster did disclose and some gleamed from other sources or personal correspondences. Technically, disclosure of such does violate the civility rules, BTW.
I cringe at some of the personal indentifing info I have read here. Being *known* can have very real dangers and cause real troubles.
Careful thinking about posting and responding is always a good idea.
