Yeah. I made similar statements twice before on the same thread... 'people' (or 'peoples' if my memory serves me) was a shorthand for policy... I think it was pretty clear from the context of the thread that we were talking about the policy...
Re acceptable rephrasings... I can take the point that the suggested rephrasings were nicer ways of conveying the thought. The problem is that I didn't know what I said was going to result in a block... There are lots of unblockable postings that could probably be rephrased nicer... But they dont' result in blocks.
I think it is probably time to move on from this issue.

And this feels like one of those... It does.And to be fair to Dr Bob this seems like a 'damed if I do.... damned if I don't' kind of situation.

But he probably can't exactly do away with it now or people will start up about 'freedom of speech' and there won't be any place to redirect the posts where people talk politics.I think it all began 'cause I (in all my innocence) asked who people were going to be voting for in the up and coming election. Sigh. Sorry about that. Didn't know etc. And then... People just went off.
