Hi Lou,
> I feel that there are great implications to his writing and I am requesting to him that he delete the part about[..not to read...].I think you are giving Dr. Bob far too much credit. I think his suggestion has very simple implications.
> In studying the causes of the Nazi Holocaust, one of the propaganda techniques used by the Nazis was to defame anyone jewish by stigmatizing them, ...
Lou, are you comparing Dr. Bob to Nazi's with this statement? And frankly, I have not seen anyone here but you post that his statement might defame someone or you. I don't believe it does. I don't believe he is defaming you. But I do believe you feel that way, if that is what you feel. I'm sorry for that, and I do not know how to help you with that. Perhaps an outside source of support might be helpful to you in managing the feelings that participating on this site seem to engender? Or perhaps if you posted about your feelings about this rather than your thoughts, those of us who care about you might be able to help more, assuming you would like support on this site.
> I do not appreciate having others write that I could be the cause of anyone's problems and I do not consider that my posts harm anyone here by writing civil posts here and would appreciate it if Dr. Hsiung delete the part in question.
Lou, I would not appreciate reading that about myself, either. I don't think anyone is saying you are the cause of their problems, but I do think that others have honest reactions to what you write. And honest reactions can sometimes be negative. I know others have had negative reactions to posts I've made. In some cases I ignore them. In some cases I attempt to make amends, because I do not wish to hurt others with my statements if I can say what I need to say in a less hurtful way. Sometimes I behave in such a way that the hurt continues, because my own emotions get heightened. But the bottom line is: I am responsible for all of those behavior choices and the subsequent consequences.
I think there are consequences, both good and bad, to every poster's posts here. And I think that not everyone views posts through the same life lenses. I admit I do not understand your unique lenses, Lou. I suspect there are others out there who also cannot see through your lenses. It's part of life, and it's part of the diversity of life that makes it such an interesting experience.
Regards,
gg
