PTSD, i have to say the best medications are stimulants combined with benzodiazepines, they have reinforcing effects and just....a lot of doctors avoid those. You would have to find a specific doctor that would be willing to treat needed things with those. And yes, definitely despite it's uses for pain, codeine and opiates, they are very well antidepressants, they make pain go away both physical, and emotional. But it's just, there not in the catagory of treatment. But there are some doctors who actually will do it, out of compassion, but that is very low most doctors would never do
Lamotrigine, would go be good a bit for complex PTSD, it's mood stabilizer and it improves mood, and prevents mood swings. Lithium is strong, and it's mainly for mania in bi polar, lamotrigine is more for depressive symptoms in mood swings. You may want to ask your doctor about mood stabilizing medications, which would help with mood alterations.
