deplin with b-6 supplementation?

Posted by porkpiehat on December 26, 2017, at 22:41:46

Hi all:

I'm taking Marplan and it's going well, however my lethargy and weakness is increasing as is some cognitive problems and irritability.

Some posters are telling me that Marplan, like Nardil, decreases B6 and therefore prevents metabolism of melatonin (or tryptophan, can't remember) which might be giving me the daytime sedation and blahs.

Also my NP wants me to try deplin to offset some Lamictal side effects and the "flat" feeling that comes from taking antidepressants for years on end. Also reading that it helps with obsessive thinking (definitely a lamictal side effect for me) and sound sensitivity, energy levels etc.

I'm worried that supplementing both might have some adverse reactions. Any thoughts?
Thanks and Happy Holidays!
