RJ: PLEASE do this. You don't need to understand how the complex private insurance systems work in the US to call Cigna. Call them with your Social Security Number and explain you need a temporary card. They will point you to somewhere on their website where you can print one.
Ask if you can have a directory of psychiatrists who take your insurance, or if it's available on their website. Also ask if you need a referral from your GP or if you can just call down the list of psychiatrists taking your insurance. Ask what the "copay" is - this is the small amount of cash you'll need to pay at the doctor's office. Usually anywhere from $0-50 depending on your policy.
Does your Mom pay something when you go to see the bitch doctor?
Do you understand? If not I'd be happy to clarify . I've been trying to get you to do this for a long time, man. If you can see a doctor and meet your copay (if you have one), and Mom doesn't follow you everywhere you go, why not?
Call Cigna. Go to their website to get the 800 number. You can do this, right?
