Scott whoa chill dude. I too have mdd and gad and i know quite often it is my meds doing 90 percent of the work. but biology is not complete destiny. and what I am saying is to help mental illness you can improve things that depression like for example if u are feeling a ton better than take a chance and go to that party. it improives your social confidence and on and on. believe me, social skills are learned, and the pills help with the anxiety, nobody is born with all of the massive collection of social skills we need...I teach this as an MSW. I am on my iphone right now, so i cant post the research. but the research shows growth in the brain is stimulated by positive links to family and friends. so why are you so offended by adding social skills along with your meds by pushing a bit to have tighter intimate communication? and no, nobody is perfect in this area and all could use improvement. this is one tool that can help you with your meds..and I know meds are absolutely needed. it is just like goimg to physio after an accident.
