I assume by doctors you mean psychiatrists? Is Parnate even available there? Some meds are simply not available in other countries, even old ones.
How "severe" is your depression? What about Nardil? Would doctors prescribe you this med?
In the U.S., as you might know already, there is some resistance among psychiatrists to prescribe MAOIs except the Emsam patch. However, many older doctors and doctors affiliated with universities do prescribe MAOIs. And they work well when nothing else works!
Perhaps you might tell your doctors that MAOIs are often prescribed by doctors in the U.S. and that the diet is not terribly restrictive. Perhaps there are a few articles written by MDs here that you could print out and share with them.
