I was on 25mg for about 6 weeks, it was fairly ok, better than lexapro anyway, and doc added 500mg depakote to it. The first day actually felt good, sort dopaminergic. After that I got fairly blunted, dull, surprise short sleepy spells during work, and not any better than zoloft alone. Everyone reacts differently. I personally didn't like depakote much, though it was friendlier than a lot of other meds. If the doc is looking for mood stabilization and antidepressant oomph, he should be looking at either Zyprexa and/or Nortriptyline. Anecdotal of course, and it varies, but I have not seen a more reliable one than zyprexa for the bipolar/depressive spectrum when added to an ssri, prozac especially good.

I don't know what the reasoning for depakote was. But hey, if it doesn't feel good, I don't know about you but I don't have any elbow room to keep taking something that makes me worse than I was. That just defies all logic.
