zoloft and depakote

I went to a new doctor last week and he put me on 1000mgs of depakote and 100mgs of zoloft. He told me to start with 500mgs of depakote and work up. I've been taking this since Thursday and it seems to be making my depression worse. Will this side effect go away? I'm still at the 500mgs. I also feel drugged up and very agitated. Anyone familiar with this combination of depakote and zoloft?
