Its got about a 60-70% success rate I think. (rough estimate) Some in the group have discontinued its use. So about the same as with other drugs.
My opinion is that its not quite as effective for depression and GAD as an SSRI like citalopram was (in my case), but the lack of side effects makes up for that. I am functional and making it to work etc. But I cant say Im particularly happy in general, and still have some symptoms of GAD and so my life is pretty dull and restricted.
I also have some long term gastritis problems that seem to be caused by SSRI's to begin with. Since stopping them I have found that a lot of other antidperessants including agomelatine still irritate my stomach. I dont know of anyone else with this problem however.
Overall I'd say agomelatine has the potential to help when used alone or in combination with other drugs. If your looking for minimal side effects its definetly worth a look, but as usual its not the 'perfect antidepressant' we're all looking for.
For the time being its the right drug for me.
