I was on an opiate for my depression - yes FOR my depression back in 2005. My psych doc put me on hydrocodone 5mg x 4 times a day in addition to my depression meds. Helped me out for years. Against my objections my new psych doc recently took me off of it because he was scared about his malpractice insurance.
I NEVER grew tolerant of it and NEVER abused it. I think opioids should be further studied in depression.
