>Tylenol-Codeine is in pregnancy category C, which means a definite risk in pregnancy and not enough studies.
That being said if in extreme pain from something like strep, prescribed it at least in early pregnancy with caution, for a short period of time would probably not cause a great risk.
But long term use of it, just like the risky trials of bupenorphine, can cause the fetus and especially in late pregnancy to become opiate addicted and may have to be brought out of that state.
So I would say, no. NSAIDs are recommended instead for pain only in pregnancy.
Long term use of codeine, which a small amount will eventually convert to morphine, can cause addiction for both the mother and the child, and theoretically a miscarriage as well.
I would highly suggest consulting your gynecologist as well as your psychiatrist as I don't think this is a safe road to go down.
