Thanks all. I could not get to my email server all day and was busy with trying to get my doctors office to fax a referral a month late!
The dose is determined by weight but the range seems to be broad. He is 18 pounds and she has him at his highest dose on 12.5mg bid. I put him on 12.5mg tid or just a bit less depending on if I can cut the tablet well. I discontinued his prednisolone too which she was not happy about. The specialist she sent me to concurred with this today. If I can keep him on an NSAID even with increased pain it might give his little immune system a chance to fight what appears on ultrasound to be a very bad deep tissue bladder infection. It is going to be difficult to tell now if he continues to have blood in his urine as it could be cancer. I will cross that bridge next week. I now I sound like dog lady. So stereotype me see if I care:)
I myself am feeling entirely better than in the past few months on Avinza instead of oxycontin for pain. I found the script I had forgotten about and never tried because I was afraid to and decided to try it as my urologist office was supposed to have referred me out to a pain clinic on June 2nd! I am so glad I got my courage up. Perhaps... well I am just feeling possibilities for a change:)
