In reply to Can Prozac work again after poop out?, posted by Epiphanie on November 14, 2007, at 17:30:13
So I guess lexapro didn't work well? How does lexapro feel?
As for prozac, I dunno, I have heard stories where people returned to it and it worked great as ever, and I've heard stories where it didn't. One thing likely though is that if you do try it again and it works it might poop out again. Might need to keep some other ideas on the back burner like adding modafinil to it, or adding zyprexa to it, something along those lines that.
I do recall a lady who felt great on 10mg, pooped out, great again on 20mg, pooped out, up to 40mg, great, pooped out, up to 60mg, great, pooped out...well, she ended up after this long battle finding that a mere 5mg along with 25mg 5htp worked better than anything and never pooped out.
I wish there was some way to predict. Prozac was the best for me, pooped out after 8 years, and I've been off it for a year now. I am tempted sometimes to try a little bit and see what happens, but then the thought of that month long cleaning out if it doesn't work bothers me.
