I would note that Vyvanse is not really a new drug. It's a high-tech reformulation of an amphetamine, that reduces its abusability significantly.

I think the suggestion about lowering the dose might be a good idea. The behavior your describing sounds to me like that of someone who -might- be above the 'theraputic window' of the drug that's best for treatment. Meaning he might do better on a lower dose, which might suppress hyperactivity less, but also be better for learning.

Giving it a little time for the body to get used to the drug might also help.
