I also had depression on Adderall, very badly.
I now take Ritalin LA and it does not depress me. It may lift my mood slightly. I don't know about concentration. I don't think it helps and I know it works only for a few hours. It helps me ADHD I suppose in the fact that I'm more awake, but not properly focused.
It really doesn't feel like the drug for me. At least I'm not reacting terribly. But it doesn't scream "success" for me... or even moderate "improvement". It's neither here nor there.
The reason why I still take it is because Concerta didn't work well, it was about the same... but shorter, and actually I'd say "smoother", oddly enough, since it's the same active ingredient. I'm afraid my doctor would just pull me off stimulants if I told him again that I didn't think Ritalin LA was helping much or that it didn't feel quite right... like I expect a mirable pill, because I don't.
