If you are at an event with drinks, a drink or two helps a lot! Why do you suppose they have them at so many social gatherings? As long as you can honestly drink responsably, that may be an effective option, safer than any gbh. And you know, if you listen attentively, it hardly matters if you say a thing, people will repond. Attentive listeners are very popular and in short supply. Good luck!
