If you have the time and money CBT is great.
Klonopin is effective - you'll see immediate effects. But I see it more as a second line or something taken on a as-needed basis (though I've taken it for years).
Effexor (150-225 MG) and Paxil (40 MG) usually do the trick but they take time to kick in. Those are the ones most widely given by psychopharmacologists for social phobia. Both have worked for me.
Nardil has been reported to work in research but never worked for me.
But again - give CBT a try.
