I think theres little doubt that tianeptine is infact a serotonin uptake acellerator. Enough studies have confirmed that.
The net effect on serotonin though it unknown. Maybe its inhibitor effect on MAO is counteracting its facilitatory effect on SERT.
(I don't even know if thats a word...facilitatory :) )
