uhm, they can't be nearly identical if the key difference (as well as the primary antidepressant mechanism itself) is the distinctive feature between these two compounds. but even meds that are actually in the same class, of course, have quite disparate differences -- SSRI's are the easiest example to conjure up. just something you should keep in mind.
